JUNE CAMP: Spray, Skate & Innovate - Graffiti STEM
Spray, Skate & Innovate: Graffiti and STEM is a one-of-a-kind summer camp experience designed for kids ages 8–10 who love art, action, and invention! Kids will cruise into the vibrant world of 90s street culture. Combining the excitement of street art, the thrill of skateboarding, and the curiosity of STEM, this camp provides an unforgettable, action-packed summer for budding creators and problem-solvers alike.
Themes & Activities may include:
90’s Street Art, Culture & Color Theory
Last year we learned about 80’s urban art, this year we will be learning about all things 90’s - art, music, cultural events that created this vibrant movement.
Experiment with primary colors, blending paints to discover new hues and shades. Learn graffiti lettering and styles.
Work as a team to design and paint a large-scale street-art mural on paper or cardboard.
Skate Mechanics & Physics
Build a small-scale ramp (using cardboard or other craft materials) and learn about angles and force.
Examine how skateboard wheels grip different surfaces, exploring friction, momentum, and balance.
Design & build mini skate-park elements (like ramps and rails) with recycled materials, introducing simple structural concepts.
And so much more! Our activities are radically student centered based on skill level, interests and aptitude; it may change.
