SPARK Art: Best Sellers Storybook Art & Collage

In this creative and imaginative class, kids dive into the enchanting world of Storybooks & Art – bring their favorite tales to life through art! Each session features a beloved children’s book as inspiration, sparking excitement and creativity as we explore the themes, colors, and characters in each story. This class combines literacy and art, helping children develop their storytelling and creative expression skills in a fun, supportive environment. Perfect for young artists who love both books and creating!
 
Storybooks may feature best selling books such as Wild Robot, Matilda, Little Prince, Light in the Attic and more!
 
What to Expect, may include:
Weekly Themes: Each week, we will highlight a new, age appropriate Scholastic Best Sellers Book from their list. 
Creative Techniques: Children will experiment with drawing, painting, collage, and using materials like watercolors, pastels, paint sticks and recyclable items.
Character Creations: Kids will create their own versions of favorite characters, design new creatures and settings, and craft stories that bring their artwork to life.
Skill Development: Focus on fundamental art skills such as color mixing, shape recognition, fine motor coordination, and spatial awareness in a fun, engaging way.
 
Materials Provided: All necessary art supplies will be provided, including paints, brushes, paper, glue, scissors, clay, and more. Kids are encouraged to bring their imagination and a willingness to explore!
 
Ages: 5-8 years old
Dates: Mondays January 13, 27th, Feb 3rd, 10th, 24th, March 3rd.
Time: 3:30-5 pm
